About Mount Emily Park

Mount Emily Park is an oasis of lush greenery nestled in between Little India and the Orchard Road area. At the fringe of the historical Mount Sophia area, Mount Emily Park would have many interesting stories to tell. It would tell stories of the Eu Villa, the massive villa that once stood atop the hill. Eu Villa belonged to the family of Eu Tong Sen, the same family that now runs the popular traditional chinese medicine brand - Eu Yan Sang.

Mount Emily Park park was also the site of the first ever public swimming pool in Singapore. Opened in 1931, the swimming pool was also the first pool in Singapore to use freshwater. The pool was so popular that it saw over 8,000 visitors in a month back in its heyday. The pool has been long paved over.

Mount Emily Park is a quiet place with a large number of mature trees. You can sit here and close your eyes and perhaps the passing winds will whisper stories of days long gone.
